This book about the work and career of Kristinn E. Hrafnsson introduces one of the most influential and yet most modest Icelandic artists of our time. During his 25-year career Kristinn has taken an active role in shaping the urban and rural environments with his evocative, poetic, humorous and philosophical questions about place and time. His work is a reminder that neither time nor the very ground we stand on can be taken for granted. As such, his work asks questions about how we find ourselves a place in the world and how we orient ourselves.
Kristinn E. Hrafnsson was born in 1960 and studied in Reykjavík and Munich, though since 1990 he has primarily worked in Reykjavík. He often collaborates with architects in his work, with some of his pieces on display at the most visited and historically significant sites in Iceland.
