For those interested in what's behind the fashion brand "Farmers Market":
Merchant & Makers interviewed our head designer Bergþóra Guðnadóttir.

Farmers Market at the Reykjavík Fashion Festival

... or take a short peek backstage in the trailer.
The music is spun around excerpts of the medieval Officium S. Thorlaci and is performed by the vocal ensemble Voces Thules, saxophonist Jóel Pálsson, keyboarder Eyþór Gunnarsson and guitarist Hilmar Jensson.

Farmers Market fashion show video

Here you can watch Farmers Market's show at the Reykjavík Fashion Festival on (please excuse the commercials at the beginning):

Reykjavík Fashion Festival

Farmers Market presented itself at this year's RFF - Reykjavík Fashion Festival - with a 20-minute fashion show.  Not only a feast for the eye, but for the ear as well.  Saxophonist Jóel Pálsson, keyboardist Davíð Þór Jónsson and drummer Matthías Hemstock wove their soundscapes around the natural fabrics of Farmers Market, with the dim thunder of Skógafoss in the background.

The echo in cyberspace has been positive - here are some photo collections to browse through:

... and finally, a few backstage impressions ...

'Horn' available again!

Jóel Pálsson's CD 'Horn' is now available again!

It had been sold out for some months, but new people were discovering it all around the world and positive reviews were still being written, like Dave Wayne (All About Jazz).  It became obvious, what had to be done:  Make more!

Stapi - new color

Farmers Market has now introduced a new color for its zipped cardigan "Stapi": camel

Available in sizes S - M - L - XL,  also in grey.

100% Icelandic wool.

Also new in camel is the woolen hat "Höfði":

ADHD auf Tour in Deutschland

Das isländische Jazz-Quartett ADHD tourt gerade Deutschland.

In Mannheim sind sie Jungs gut angekommen, zumindest beim Mannheimer Morgen.

Die CDs von ADHD sind natürlich bei Farmers & Friends erhältlich, gehört die Gruppe doch zu unseren Freunden:

'Múli' and 'Fet' in Eurovision video.

For this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Iceland is sending the song "Never Forget" - or "Mundu eftir mér" in Icelandic - composed by violinist Gréta Salóme Stefánsdóttir and performed by herself and singer Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson, also known as Jónsi.

While enjoying the video, one might notice the appearance of Jónsi at 1:38, tastefully dressed in our cardigan 'Múli' and pants 'Fet'.

Both, of course, available at 'Farmers & Friends' ...

New alpaca color

Farmers Market has added a new color to its alpaca ladies outerwear.

The vest Vogar and poncho Hof are now also available in beige.

Reykjavík Jazz Festival

The Reykjavík Jazz Festival is in full swing (see program here) and Jóel and his companions will be playing Horn on Sunday evening, August 28th, at 21.00, downtown at Faktorý.  Come and hear the Jazz Album of the Year live!

Horn gets positive echo from Denmark

Jóel's jazz-CD Horn recently got a very positive review in the Danish newspaper Politiken.  "A diabolically good record" says critic Christian Munch-Hansen and gives it five hearts out of six possible.  "Someone should get him to Denmark as soon as possible."
