Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson made his first appearance on the television show "Hljómskálinn" in the spring of 2012, performing the song "Sumargestur".  Already in september, his debut album "Dýrð í dauðaþögn" was released and climbed quickly to the top of the Icelandic charts, making him one of Iceland's most successful newcomers ever.
